Princess Cruises started small with only one star in its fleet, the Pacific Princess that sailed to the Mexican Riviera. But because of the TV series, “The Love Boat” the fortunes of this cruise company turned overnight to become one of the most well-known cruise lines in the world.

The present fleet of Princess Cruises now consists of 15 stylish cruise ships that are a lot larger than the original “Love Boat” ship, the Pacific Princess. Princess Cruises’ ships still sail to the Mexican Riviera but has since expanded their destinations to the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Asia. Europe, Alaska to Tahiti. Princess Cruises have a coterie of loyal passengers because of the reliability of its products and its wide range of cruise itineraries

Princess Cruises is one cruise line that is known for its reliability and constancy. Boarding any of the ships of this remarkable cruise company will assure regular guests that they’ll get exactly the same exceptional service and outstanding amenities and activities that they expect from the company. But Princess Cruises is also an innovator in the cruising industry. It is the first cruise liner that came up with a large number of staterooms with private balconies and the first in the business to offer 24-hour buffet food service. A buffet spread is available for every meal including dinner and snacks at all hours of the day and night.

Though the ships of Princess Cruises are super large, they are not crowded because they carry fewer passengers than other megaliners. The cruise ships of princess Cruises also have from two to five smaller dining rooms divided by etched glass partitions for guests to choose from rather than the single massive dining room of most huge ships. And instead of one main lounge, the ships have two show lounges with different spectacular entertainment offerings.

Considered the biggest cruise ship in the cruise industry is Allure of the Seas. This Royal Caribbean cruise ship measures an amazing 1,188 feet long which is almost three times longer than a football field and 225,000 tons in weight. It’s not surprising that people are fascinated by this mammoth ship. The fascination for superlatives- the biggest crocodile, the biggest man, the biggest building and everything that’s considered the biggest thing in the world, is a universal enthrallment that rouses curiosity. The biggest cruise ship in the world, Allure of the Seas can accommodate a total of 6,360 passengers in its 2,700 staterooms, with 16 decks and a cruising speed of 22 knots.

Some cruise ships are a destination in themselves. There are countless of things to do on a cruise ship that sometimes shore excursions are not even necessary to have a memorable and enjoyable vacation. The good news is, these things to do on a cruise ship are virtually free, included in the cruise fare, making a cruise a cheaper and more pleasurable vacation than a vacation to a particular destination. Some of the entertaining things to do on a cruise ship includes:

Enjoying the onboard entertainment – Most cruise ships have at least one “variety show” nightly. If you are on one of the larger cruise ships, you will get to enjoy Broadway or Vegas type musical extravaganza. In addition, there may be magician, comedian and circus performances. For those who prefer a quieter and more laid – back entertainment, there are piano bars and all kinds of lounges that offer a wide range of musical entertainment. Participative entertainment such as dancing, disco and karaoke are also available to guests.

Doing physical fitness exercises – One other pleasurable thing to do on a cruise ship is to have the benefit of the doing physical exercises in the ship’s fitness center with state-of-the art physical fitness equipment. For guests who prefer jogging or walking to working out in a gym, some cruise ships even have jogging tracks or have an expansive promenade deck where they can jog or walk with a great view of the water.

Swimming or enjoying water sports such as water volleyball in the pool – All cruise ships have at least one swimming pool where guests can enjoy a swim or join in some other pool games. Some ships even have Jacuzzis and hot tubs where guests can soak and relax. One other thing to do around the pool is to sunbathe and simply people watch.

There are so many other things to do on a cruise ship such as watch a movie, read a book at the library, send messages to friends or play internet games at the internet shop that there will never be a dull moment for guests.

According to a Caribbean Princess reviews, this mammoth cruise ship is a large version of the classic and older majestic cruise ships with its additional deck called the Riviera k for passenger accommodation and can carry more than 3,600 passengers. In fact, it is the ship with the highest carrying for the cruise company. Its dramatic Skywalker’s disco with spoiler soaring 150 feet over the stern and its spectacular atrium set it apart from the rest of the cruise ships in the world. This spacious cruise ship also has more than enough options for alternative dining; authentic shipboard weddings and renewal of wedding vows; extensive age-appropriate kid’s programs and activities; an all inclusive fitness program; plenty of night life choices; numerous cabins with balcony and an extensive snorkeling and golf programs.

The Caribbean Princess initially set sail in April of 2004. A Caribbean Princess review enthused about the ship’s “Movies under the Stars” the ship’s newest entertainment alternative. This is a giant pool-side screen that features special sports events and the most recent hit movies where guests can relax on soft, cushioned reclining chairs under the stars while enjoying a first-run movie. Cruise passengers will also have fun watching an assortment of street performers doing their acts at the Piazza.

Other features include the ship’s stateroom amenities that can be likened to that of five-star hotels as well as the numerous staterooms and suites with either balconies or ocean view. In truth, there are 900 balcony staterooms and a large number suites and mini suites balconies. Caribbean Princess guests take pleasure in numerous special features intended specifically for the Caribbean, in addition to the features and services of Personal Choice Cruising. This allows the guests make special their vacation with countless entertainment, activity and dining options.

Royal Caribbean International is American and Norwegian cruise brand owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. with main headquarters in Miami Florida. It has a fleet of 42cruise ships operating under five different brands, namely Royal Caribbean Cruises, Azamara Cruises, CDF Croisières de France, Celebrity Cruises and Pullmantur. 24% of the world’s cruise market is controlled by the Royal Caribbean fleet. Largest cruise ships in the world, ten out of twelve, are part of the Royal Caribbean fleet.

Royal Caribbean has always been a vanguard of the advancement of the cruise industry and considered one of the giants of the industry both in size as well as in service. Royal Caribbean’s thrust for bigger and larger cruise ship was initiated in 1999 with the launch of the behemoth “Voyager of the Seas”, a 138,000 ton vessel that can accommodate 3,114 passengers. The ship was not only huge but absolutely innovative in attractions and design.

Ten years later, the Royal Caribbean fleet consists of the ships of Voyager and their larger and newer cousins, Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas – Allure is considered the largest cruise ship in the world. This earned Royal Caribbean the title, Royal Caribbean fleet, the largest cruise ship in the world. But Royal Caribbean’s pride is not only the size of its ships, but the pioneering and innovative entertainment and activity features of its ships are also considered beyond compare in the cruise industry. This includes the zip line, ice skating and rock climbing and an expansive outdoor garden. The ships of the Royal Caribbean fleet are not only the largest cruise ships in the world, they also have a more sizeable sports facilities on board and more variety in its entertainment and activities.

The cruise ships of the Royal Caribbean fleet also boast of impressive kid’s facilities such as a waterslide in the outdoor children’s pool, surfing simulator, boxing ring at the gym and an expansive water park with water sprayers and cannons among others.

Seabourn Pride is an all-suite cruise ship with an intimate size that guarantees exclusivity. It can accommodate only 208 guests that are assured of friendly, personalized and superb service all throughout the cruise. It is decorated in cool Scandinavian style that is classically elegant and not flashy or ornate. Cabins are quietly elegant and comfortable, public rooms are stylishly dignified both having that feel of old money. To highlight that elegant and old money ambiance, cruising on Seabourn Pride is all inclusive; champagne, wine and almost all types of drinks flow freely and caviar is complimentary; mini massages are offered for free on the poolside so are wine-tasting seminars and Pilates classes; even tips or gratuity to the crew is included in the cruise fare.

It is decorated with a musical theme with objet d’art and mementos from the world’s greatest musicians such as guitars signed by Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Rolling Stone, Iggy Pop and Queen among others and a Baroque-type Dutch pipe organ, even a saxophone signed by former US President Bill Clinton.

River Baroness is an intimate and enchanting boutique cruise ship of Uniworld that carries only 120 passengers. It has comfortable, lavishly appointed and chic 66 staterooms all with an outside river view for the guests to enjoy the beautiful sceneries in the privacy and comfort of their staterooms.

After River Baroness was fully refurbished in 2005 all the public rooms of the ship were given a total make-over, hotel-style bed and new technology such as WiFi internet connection were added to make the ship at par with the other river cruise ships of Uniworld. For such a small ship, River Baroness is big in amenities. The main lounge, the Monet Lounge, with its comfy leather sofas and chair has huge picture windows that make it a perfect spot to watch river life and the scenic view pass by while sipping a glass of wine or indulging in a cup of coffee. River Baroness also has a sauna, whirlpool, game room, beauty salon, library, fitness center, massage treatment rooms, and a boutique shop for gifts and sundries. It also has an elegant restaurant, The Van Gogh Restaurant, that serves exquisite French cuisine cooked with fresh regional produce with an extensive wine list for guests to choose from; a 24-hour specialty tea and coffee bar. River Baroness also offers complimentary use of Nordic walking sticks and bicycle.

All staterooms of River Baroness are extravagantly furnished with hotel-type beds with fine linens, built-in closet, direct-dial phone, flat screen TV with satellite, a vanity, safe, hair dryer. The bathrooms are supplied with L’Occitane bath and body products, bathrobes and a magnifying mirror. Starting 2011, all suites of River Baroness had extra amenities and services that include a welcoming bottle of wine, DVD player, refrigerator, slippers, laundry service, daily cookie plate and fruits, shoe shine, continental breakfast and morning tea and coffee. In addition, windows on the cabins located on the promenade level can be opened.
