2011, 2012 Upcoming Cruise Ships
The cruise industry is persistent in growing magnificently each year providing tourists and travelers the most unforgettable cruise ever experienced. According to the Cruise Lines International Association, more than 14.3 million guests were estimated to have sailed in 2010, and more are expected to go sailing in 2011. Meanwhile, here are the newest cruise ships ready to launch a thousand smiles on dock.
Marina
Since the initiation of Oceania Cruises, it has brought incomparable onboard experience The Marina is one of the biggest cruise ships Oceania Cruises in 2011. She represents the evolution of the popular Regatta class ships on the line. Marina is 65,000 gross tons and can occupy 1,258 passengers. She is small compared to the other cruise ships Oceania Cruises which are only around 33,000grt. Marina, although mid-sized, has greater amenities that can accommodate guests comfortably. Expect spacious accommodation and lavish rooms suited for your grand voyage.
AIDAsol
AIDAsol, a Sphinx class cruise ship of Meyer Werft for AIDA Cruises, will be launching by AIDA Cruises in April 2011. This is the eighth ship to join Aida’s fleet. AIDAsol is similarly designed with her predecessor, AIDAblu. It is 71,000 GRT and accommodates 2,050 passengers. It has an additional deck, brewery and a 2,300m2 spa facility. AIDAsol is 252 long and 32 meters wide.
Costa Favolosa
Costa Favolosa by Costa Cruises will open for service in July 2011. She will be 114,500 gross tons and has a capacity of 3,780 passengers in 1,506 cabins. The Costa Favolosa will be the 16th ship for the Costa Cruises fleet. It will be similar in size to the Costa Pacifica of 2009. This vessel is based on the Concordia class design, also one of the Costa Cruises cruise ships. Costa Favolosa will be the fifteenth ship in service with Costa Cruises.
Seabourn Quest
The Seabourn Quest is another luxury cruise ship by the Seabourn Cruise Lines. It is expected to set sail on June 2011. The ship is the third of the trilogy of ships of the Yachts of Seabourn together with the Seabourn Odyssey and the Seabourn Sojourn. This cruise ship is at 3,200 GRT and can carry up to 450 passengers.
The cruise industry is, indeed, resilient and continues to grow. What else could we expect from cruise lines such as Princess Cruises, Disney Cruise Line and Carnival Cruise Lines when 2012 comes?
